Encouragement from Elaine: Dear Christian Something Sister, did you ever hear that YOU and I can actually participate in the divine nature of God, and God will give us the power to do it? That is exactly what it says in 2 Peter 1:3-4. God's Power! The resources come from Him, not me. God's Divine Nature! MINE! Believe it and memorize it and live it -- you can kiss guilt goodbye.

2. Today I realize that I am weak, but God is Strong, and God's Holy Spirit empowers me now and all through this day.

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7 NIV

Encouragement from Elaine: This is exactly what reinforces Affirmation Number One. God's Holy Spirit is available all day, every day, to provide the power we need. Think about this: we need not be intimidated. As Christians, we have Holy Spirit power to help us overcome our fears, anxieties, worries and problems. You know already, we are going to have problems, BUT the Holy Spirit of God helps us to overcome our weaknesses.


3. Today I am going to be cheerful, kind loving, and forgiving even if I don't feel like it because the Holy Spirit of God lives in me,

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. There is no law against these things! Galatians 5:22-23 NLT

Encouragement from Elaine: I may not feel like being loving or showing joy, but if I go ahead and do it anyway, my feelings do become more loving and joyful.

Let me give you my real life example of Christian Tools of Affirmation in practice:

After our son died, I did not feel like doing anything. Just getting dressed and going to Kennelly Hallmark Shop, which Tom and I owned at the time, was all I could do. BUT when I was on the selling floor, as I called it, I had to be smiling, talking with customers, cheerful with staff and just all-around NICE.

Did I feel like NICE ---NO! But did I do it---YES! And here is what happened: my actions changed my feelings. That is why I am so determined to share my Christian Tools of Affirmation with you.
