To Barb - A Best Friend Poem for You

I love you, dear friend, Barb! It's as plain as plain can be.
I remember our first meeting and your smile just for me.

We joked and laughed out loud. We were instantly connected.
We were fun and so vivacious that our Principal frowned and fretted!

You taught second grade and I was a teacher of the third.
Our classrooms were just next door --your cute antics were heard!

We taught our students very well --geography, reading, math.
But what we liked teaching best of all was teaching them to laugh!

We taught the love of Jesus too. How He came to save the lost.
Showed our students how to love each other, no matter what the cost.

Our teaching school together lasted just a few short years.
I stayed in WI, but you to CA! Separation brought the tears.

Best friends across the miles was hard --but we hung-in and did it.
Had lots of fun on the phone and planned our yearly visits.

Sending cards and gifts was great. It kept our friendship fun!
We prayed daily for each other. The Lord blessed us -- each one.

Now its been over forty years and still we are Best Friends.
I thank God He brought us together -- Something Sisters to the end!

To My Best Friend Sister

On her Birthday!

April 22nd is the only day I know

That is perfect for a birthday poem.

So Sister, Dear, I write this for you.

Have fun at work and at Home!

Sending my love this year In a poem

Is something special for your birthday.

I am fortunate you were born on the day you were,

'Cause April 22nd Is known as Earth Day!

Of course, I could say, "Eat and Eat and Eat some more"

How much fun to eat on your Birthday.

And then as a poet I'd have to say,

"Have a wholesome and Healthy Girth day!"

Ah, If we were together, you know

We would laugh and laugh on your Birthday.

And then I could write so clever, so true

"Have a Silly and Snappy Mirth Day!"

Oh, precious Friend, you are worth more to me

Than rubies or diamonds on your Birthday.

You are like, "apples of gold in settings of silver"

so to you, "I wish a Happy Worth Day!"

Dear, Barb, My Friend, you make it so easy for me

To send my love on the day of your Birth.

May you forever be Blessed by God & Remember--

You're My Original Something Sister on earth!

To My Something Sister Friend

Hello and Good Day, To My Something Sister Friend!
You are my special Gift from God; This poem for you I've penned.

The laughter we have shared has kept my sanity in tact.
I vote you Queen of Fun! There is nothing that you lack.

I think of all our phone calls, some way into the night.
No matter what I told you, your helpful words were always right.

I think of all the funny cards we've sent throughout the years;
And, oh, how you were there for me, even in tears.

I think of all the gifts from you to me and me to you.
And yet, we never tried to outdo each other.

For better or for worse, we've been there for each other.
Thru children, husbands, jobs, and fears, and even remorse.

What can I say, Best Friend, to show my love to you,
And thanks for all the loving things you freely say and do?

You are the BEST! You are my SWEETEST FRIEND!
Thank you, dear Best Friend Sister,
My deepest LOVE to you, I send.
